Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-03-14

1. Who is the data controller?

This Privacy Policy explains how Evikto processes personal data in connection with the Evikto mobile application.

Controller: Michel VIGNES

Address: 4 Rue Pierre de Ronsard 12850 Onet le chateau - France

Email: contact@evikto.com

Website: https://evikto.com

2. Purpose of the app

Evikto is a smoking cessation support app (tracking, Journal, Monthly Report, mini-games, support tools, premium features, and manual export/local backup options).

Evikto is not a healthcare professional and does not replace medical advice.

3. Data processed by Evikto (local-first approach)

Evikto is designed with a local-first approach: tracking data you enter in the app is primarily stored locally on your device.

3.1 Data you may enter in the app (stored locally)

  • quit date;
  • consumption and progress data;
  • relapse / craving information;
  • Journal entries and free-text notes;
  • mini-game session data (for example use date, duration, displayed score);
  • app preferences (language, theme, settings, etc.);
  • available local backup/manual export and privacy preference settings in the app;
  • app security settings (for example app lock).

3.2 Journal feature

The Journal lets you write personal notes, reflections, and progress cues.

Journal content is used to support your in-app self-reflection experience and remains primarily local on your device.

3.3 Monthly Report feature

The Monthly Report is generated in the app from your tracked data (for example smoke-free timeline, cigarettes avoided, consistency, relapse/craving logs, and other available progress markers).

The Monthly Report is an informational progress summary and not a medical report.

Monthly Report content is primarily processed locally in the app.

3.4 Mini-games feature

Mini-games are short in-app distraction tools intended to help you shift attention during difficult moments.

When you use mini-games, session-related data may be stored locally to keep continuity and provide in-app history views where available.

3.5 My Project (purchase/travel/savings goal)

If you enable "My Project", Evikto may store locally on your device: project title, category (travel/purchase/savings/other), target amount, optional target date, an emoji, and a motivation note ("why").

This information is used only to display your progress (estimated savings) and, for Premium users, to provide advanced blocks such as projections, milestones, and reminders. It is not transmitted to an Evikto server in normal operation.

3.6 Notifications (optional)

If you enable reminders, Evikto uses your device notification system to show motivational messages related to your goals.

You can disable notifications at any time in app settings or system settings.

3.7 Local security

  • local encryption of stored data;
  • secure storage for technical secrets (for example local key);
  • app lock mechanisms (PIN and/or biometrics depending on your settings).

3.8 Local backup and manual export

Evikto provides local backup and manual export options to support data continuity (for example when you change device or reinstall the app).

Automatic local backup is optional and disabled by default.

You may export compatible tracking data and settings to local storage or user-selected storage (for example iCloud Drive) only when you trigger an export manually.

Evikto does not provide real-time cloud sync of personal app data.

3.9 Balance feature (optional)

Balance lets users optionally record balance-related moments during smoking cessation, including moments linked to cravings, routines, hunger, stress, or boredom.

Balance entries remain local on your device and are protected by the app local storage and security model.

Balance data is not sold, not used for advertising personalization, and not sent to Evikto business servers for this feature in normal operation.

If data export is available in your app version, Balance entries can be included in export output. You can also delete them through in-app delete/reset flows when available.

4. Technical data processed with third-party services

Some features rely on third-party services that are strictly linked to app operation, stability, and product improvement.

4.1 Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Evikto uses RevenueCat for subscription and in-app purchase management, together with the Apple App Store.

Purchase/subscription technical data may be processed to validate purchases, manage subscriptions, restore purchases, and grant premium access.

4.2 Diagnostics and stability tools (Sentry)

Evikto uses Sentry to detect, analyze, and fix crashes and technical errors.

Processed data may include technical incident information (for example app version, OS version, device type, timestamp, error traces, and diagnostic metadata required for analysis).

4.3 Optional product usage analytics (PostHog)

Evikto may offer optional product usage analytics through PostHog to understand which features are useful and where friction appears.

This choice may be presented during onboarding. Product analytics remains disabled until you make a choice, can be refused, and can be changed later in app Settings.

When enabled, processed data may include interaction/navigation events, technical information (for example app version, performance), and technical or pseudonymous identifiers required for product analytics.

Optional product usage analytics excludes Journal content, personal notes, and advertising identifiers.

5. Purposes

  • provide app features (including Journal, Monthly Report, mini-games, local backup, and manual export/restore);
  • secure access to the app;
  • detect and fix technical issues, improve stability;
  • measure optional product usage analytics (when accepted) to improve features;
  • manage subscriptions and premium features;
  • respond to support and privacy-rights requests;
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

6. Legal bases

  • performance of the requested service (features, local backup/export/restore, subscriptions);
  • legitimate interests (security, stability, support, product improvement);
  • consent for optional product usage analytics where required.

7. Recipients

7.1 Local tracking data: stays on device.

7.2 Backup/export/restore: local storage and user-selected storage options (for example iCloud Drive). Automatic local backup is optional and disabled by default; exports run only when you trigger them manually, without real-time cloud sync.

7.3 Subscriptions: RevenueCat + Apple.

7.4 Diagnostics and stability: Sentry.

7.5 Optional product usage analytics (when accepted): PostHog.

8. Transfers outside the EU

Some technical providers may process data outside the EU. Appropriate safeguards are implemented when required.

9. Retention periods

9.1 Local data (including Journal, Monthly Report data, and mini-game session data): retained until deletion, uninstall, or reset.

9.2 Backup/export data: retained according to your in-app actions (update/delete) and technical constraints of the local backup/export mechanism.

9.3 Technical diagnostics data and optional usage analytics data (when accepted): retained for a limited period necessary for incident resolution and product improvement.

9.4 Support/privacy-rights communications: retained for the time needed to process requests and demonstrate compliance.

10. Your rights

Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent (subject to applicable conditions).

You can also manage some privacy options directly in the app, depending on your version.

11. How to exercise your rights

Contact: contact@evikto.com

Please include a clear subject, useful details, and your platform.

Some requests may be handled directly in the app (export, backup/restore, reset) when those options are available.

12. Complaints

You can lodge a complaint with CNIL (France) or the authority competent for your situation.

13. Website vs mobile app scope

This policy mainly covers processing related to the Evikto mobile app (including Sentry, optional PostHog usage analytics, and local backup/manual export).

The Cookie Policy on evikto.com separately covers website technologies (cookies/localStorage) and related consent choices.
